The Maryland Commission on Capital Punishment voted yesterday in favor of recommending death penalty repeal to the Maryland legislature! *
The study commission voted 13-7 in favor of recommending repeal, citing problems such as racial and geographic disparities, high cost, lack of deterrence, and risk of executing the innocent. The full report will be released next month.
