Serial Killer 'Son of Sam' Denied Parole Again
ALBANY, N.Y. -- No parole for ``Son of Sam'' serial killer David Berkowitz.
The 53-year-old inmate at Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg has been denied parole for the third time by the state parole board.
Berkowtiz terrorized New York City 30 years ago when he shot and killed six people in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens in a string of attacks that began in the summer of 1976.
He was arrested the next year and began serving six consecutive 25-years-to-life sentences in 1978. Berkowitz is eligible for parole again in two years.
The parole board noted that his prison programming "appears commendable'' while his disciplinary record the past two years contained only one report.
While in prison, Berkowitz has become a Christian and says he's a minister.
