I was going through my writings and I found this and thought I would post it here .
Someone Died Today
Someone died today How sad for those involved Problem solved According to the state Calling it justice, not hate. But they all have blood on their hands Even if it’s the law of the land Each of us ,who are tax payers Whether or not we’re players In this game called death
Someone died today I mourn their families lost How sad the cost For those who are left behind What does this say of mankind. Just because its law It doesn’t make it right Even though it’s now so trite No big deal When the state kill
Someone died today But life goes on Pick up the pieces until next time No rhythm or rhyme By those who are to preserve life Going against their oath What a contradiction How do they face the mirror Knowing they caused death Instead of causing life
Someone died today A sad day indeed For all of us Whether or not we made a fuss What is our country coming too The red white and blue When we all have blood on our hands Most unwilling to take a stand. To fight for what is wrong We’re just not made that strong
Someone died today I’m sad for the victim I can feel their family’s pain It makes me want to cry But an eye for an eye Breeds more victims, so insane Where is the closure? When does the pain end ? Does his death make it stop ? Does it disappear? Just because someone died today.
